SonShine Hacienda
When most people think about YWAM Ships Mazatlan, they think about the medical outreaches, going to the most isolated communities that the M/V Amazing Grace can get to. But recently, while docked at the marina in San Felipe, our team made contact with a children’s home called Sonshine Hacienda, a home for abandoned, abused, and orphaned children. The directors of Sonshine Hacienda brought the children out to the ship, where they met the staff, the outreach team, and the crew. A few days after the trip, our ship manager, Melissa, sent us a video from the directors of the children’s home.
They thanked us for the work we were doing in their community and were so appreciative of the opportunity for the children to come aboard and experience a mission ship firsthand. At the end of the video, the director said, “Don’t be surprised if one day you meet one of these children in your missionary training schools.”
Today, our team is visiting the children’s home to do a dental clinic with the kids.
