It's been a year since we pioneered the Media DTS here at YWAM Mazatlan and so much as happened since then. This year we have seven Media DTS students from Mexico and the USA who have come with different levels of ability, but one thing in common. They all want to use a passion that they have for media to tell tell stories and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
The video above is the first piece that the students made during the first two weeks of the school. It's a Grassroots News International story about the people from Central America who attempt to ride the train across Mexico en route to the USA. Jeff Rogers came from Kona to train the students and produced the project with the them as well.
We're just into the third week of the DTS and God has already done some incredible things in the lives of the students and at the same time, they are learning to share that with the people they are coming in contact with. For example during a Thursday afternoon ministry time, Manny, one of the DTS students was with a group ministering to some people in a run down park and God started speaking to him about helping to restore the park. Now the DTS has adopted the park as a project and has already begun the restoration process and will also be documenting what they are doing in order to produce a documentary type film about what God is doing in the community.
There are a lot of amazing things happening and it's only the third week. If you want to know more about what the Media DTS is follow the link below.
